I wore only the Saucony Mirage 5 throughout my recent trip to Jeollanamdo province, South Korea. This came about because I did not want the added weight of carrying an additional pair of trail shoes in my luggage. So I relied solely on the pair I wore to get me around.

The shoe was put to extreme tests throughout the trip where there was lots of hiking trails, walking and even some rock-climbing and abseiling down steep rocky cliffs.

This pair of kicks really proved it's worth even able to take me hiking safely up rocky trails!
The shoe survived all kinds of weather, rain or shine, although it was not water proof as expected.
Wonder of wonders, this pair really surprised me and performed above my expectations.
It looks like this shoe might be able to double up as a trail shoe as well, although some might find the grip less "tight" compared to a real trail shoe.
The outer sole was also still quite intact without much wear and tear at the end of my trip.

Check out the outer sole - it's still intact and not much wear and tear after all that hiking over rocky trails!

If it survived rocky cliffs and trails, it can double up as both a road shoe and a trail shoe (in the absence of one)
Frank Chong, eat your heart out! This is a really great shoe and after 2.5 weeks of wearing solely nothing but this pair, the shoe has grown on me and moulded to my foot in such a way that wearing a different pair of shoes feels a little alien!
Cheers to the Mirage 5!
