However, as we hadn't seen each other in a while, we decided that, busy or not, we simply had to make the time for a quick meetup before the year comes to and end.

I got lost several times finding the place as Google Maps led me to Tasik Selatan instead. Thank God it didn't lead me to Zoo Negara!

Finally, after about 45 minutes of driving around, I finally spotted the signage for "Lakefields" somewhere after the Sg. Besi LRT station and thus eventually located the cafe.
It was a nicely decorated cafe with usage of a nice combination of colors. The atmosphere was cozy and warm without being too noisy. Perfect place for a nice, girly chat over food.

There were all also these nice, fluffy, hug-able grizzly bear beanbags that made me want to take them home!

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the lovely wooden rocking horses and tin soldiers around the place. The cafe also lets you play with paper props such as Santa Hats and Beards as Christmas is coming.

The reception of the waitress however was a bit cold and unfriendly. I was given 2 paper menus and she just left me to look at them without stopping to recommend anything on the menu, even though I informed her that it was my first visit there.
The items listed on the menu were reasonably priced though compared to other cafes I've been to and there's quite a variety of breakfast / brunch items to choose from the menu. The drinks menu looked interesting as well.
Price-wise, food items on the breakfast / brunch main menu, ranged between RM10 to RM30. While drinks did not go beyond RM12 or 13.
I finally settled for the Breakfast Waffle (RM12.90) while Joey chose her Banana Berry Pancake (can't really recall but I think it was RM14.90). For drinks, Joey chose a Fruit Tea while I chose a standard Hazelnut Latte (RM8).
Whilst waiting for our food, we exchanged Christmas gifts and I also gave Joey her belated and long-awaited birthday present.
We were chatting away in excitement but couldn't help noticing how long our orders were taking to come.
In actual fact, we waited a good 45 minutes for our food to come and by that time, we were famished! Joey even had to go to the counter to remind them of our order.
We also noticed that the waitresses / waiter were often unclear over which table to send the correct orders to and kept mixing up the orders for other tables. Hmmm.. more training is needed here I guess, this being a new setup and all.
Anyway, when our food finally came, we were downright hungry enough that we ate everything quickly.
The food presentation was good and everythig looked downright delicious but to be honest, my scrambled eggs tasted a bit bland and the waffle was so-so only. Personally, the Owl's Café, Bukit Jalil serves better waffle! This one lacks the "aroma" of a good waffle, if you know what I mean.

On the other hand, the drinks were good. So much so that we felt like ordering another drink / dessert after talking so much. We had so much so much catching up to do!
Joey and me settled for Affogato's with Flavoured Ice-Cream and Crushed Almond Biscotti. Mine was Vanilla flavoured while Joey's was Coconut Cream-flavoured. Both priced at RM9.90.

On the whole, we enjoyed each other's company and had a great time at this café. Thanks to the manager in charge that day who helped to take pictures of us while we were at the place.

Would I visit again? Perhaps.. And I sincerely hope that this café improves their turnaround time in serving their food and up the "warmth" factor in their service.
Oh, and by the way, the waiters need to differentiate between pepper and tissue paper! We had to tell the waiter 3 times that we wanted pepper and he still didn't get it. In the end, I had to walk up to the counter and help myself.
