Cafe Review : March Azalea Kitchen 三月杜鹃

Yesterday evening, we decided to try out a new neighborhood cafe called March Azalea Kitchen 三月杜鹃 for our dinner.

The cozy interior

We got to hear of this cafe from our friend, Willem Hoo whose friend is the proprietor. Since it was the soft launch of the cafe (27 Nov 2016 : official launch), there was a 15% discount over all items ordered on the menu.

Nice decor. Plenty of long tables suitable for groups.

My first impression of the cafe as we stepped through it's doors, was it's cozy ambience and nice decor.

The welcome by the staff however, was not exactly warm.

Also, although the menu included a few unique items such as Asam Pedas Petai Rice or with Pasta, but we had a little problem deciding what to order from the rest of the menu as it had a limited choice of pasta, egg rice bowls and salad. And they did not allow add-on for certain menu items.

E.g. The Egg Rice bowls did not come with any meat so we requested to add on a chicken chop. However, the cafe could not cater for that.

So instead, we settled for a Thousand Island Chicken Chop (RM18.80) with add on rice and egg for HowHow (strangely, an add-on this way, was possible although we had to pay additional RM2.00 for the rice and RM1.50 for the egg) and a Spaghetti Bolognaise with Enoki Mushrooms wrapped in Turkey Ham (RM13.80) for me.

For drinks, we went with a Coconut Milkshake (RM12.80) for HowHow and a Honey Jujube Ginger Tea (RM6.80) for me.

The service was considerably fast. We were served our food within 20 min after ordering.

Howhow is happy that his food has been served promptly.

The food was quite decent in portion and tasted of simple, yummy, home cooking, and the drinks were really nice.

Yours truly all ready to taste that plate of pasta

Haven't had a chance to taste their coffee yet, perhaps I will return another day for that.

There are also some cheesecakes and crepe cakes priced between RM12.80 and RM13.80 per slice. I haven't had a chance to try those either.

Overall, the cafe is not bad for a first start, perhaps with time, they can add more variety to their menu.

We had fun taking photos with the nice decor.

If you are in the OUG area, you can go check this new place out.

They are having free coffee from 11am till 1pm today and the 15% discount over all menu items still holds.
